Alvan Quamina was born and grew up in Trinidad & Tobago. He Attended St Crispin Elementary School in Wood-brook. Port-of-Spain, and High School at Naparima College in San Fernando, Trinidad. In 2956 he came to the United States and attended Northern Baptist Theological College and Roosevelt University in Chicago graduating with a BA in History. He then went to Wheaton College Graduate School graduating with MA in Church History. He is a Minister of the Gospel following in the footsteps of his Grand-father, father, mother and uncle, and pastored churches in Lemon. Costa Rica and Trinidad, and was assistant Pastor of Mozart Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, and was Director of Door of Hope Rescue Mission in Chicago.
