Author’s style is fluid, quite coherent, and interesting! Tells vivid narrative of an amazing gentleman, who enriched so many others, their lot and prospects in living lives as our Lord bids us, and excel in life and truly love all others.

Dave never let his disability stop him, I worked with him at Goodwill the Kalamazoo,MI. He was a great man. You will laugh and cry as you read about how he fought for many of the changes that you see every day, Ramps, walk lights, electric door openers… that make my life as a a differentlyabled person much easier. You will enjoy this book

I thorouhly enjoyed this book. Anne is a storyteller at heart, and that really showed in this book. Since I appreciate true stories of people’s trials and victories, this did not disappoint. I loved that there was even a chapter written by Dave, even though he has been gone for some time. What I most appreciated about this book, though, is she really showed, as my friends like to say, “WHEELCHAIRS AREN’T SCARY!” Although Dave had to do some things differently, he still did everything he wanted (loved the waiting cruise ship story). Since we just adopted a daughter that may be wheelchair-bound, it made me stop and think about what obstacles she may have to face and what we can do to prepare for them ahead of time. I hope there is a sequel. I really want to hear more about them falling in love and more specifics about the trainings and methods Dave developed when working with those with disabilities.

I came across this book upon an invitation from one of Anne’s children to read it. I could not put it down! Anne is a delightful writer, capturing the events of her and her husband’s extraordinary journey together in life with great and colorful style. I found myself walking, for a moment, in their world. The life of someone with a disability brings challenges but does not in any way take from the value they have to offer the world we all live in. There is a difference in being a victim versus being a victor. Anne’s husband never used his disability except to make the world a better place. Their story has everything, even romance. I shed tears at points and laughed at others. Anne is an excellent story teller. I look forward to even more books from her. You will never look at disabilities in the same light after this read. Thank goodness!

I cried my way through this well-written story about a couple who deeply loved the Lord Jesus, their families, and anyone they met. Their love for everyone and most especially their concern for enriching the lives of physically handicapped people is an amazing story of perseverance and dedication. It’s a must read to anyone who thinks they are limited by health, wealth and their backgrounds. Having known this couple, I can honestly say they lived what they taught others and their love, joy and positive attitudes always burned brightly!
