“This book of Poetry started by hearing a song that my mother used to sing when I was a child. At some point later, it occurred to me that my mother wasn’t singing anymore. It seemed that she had lost her joy and exuberance. I had moved away from my country of birth and was going through my struggles. I had strong Christian faith so I didn’t have to go through the pain that she did. I wished I could have been close to her to have said some encouraging words to help her. Falling that, the poem was supposed to have been read to her, but that also did not happen.
After her death, I figured if she couldn’t hear the poem, others could draw some lessons from my writing.”
